The building boom of the Wilhelminian period at the end of the 19th century also affected Jürgensby. Building No. 51, built as a residential building with a shop, dates back to 1884. Structurally, the corner sloping towards the street is particularly striking – a building fashion of the time: The „Berlin Corner“ is a construction method developed in Berlin at the time of blocking ends at street intersections (also: St.-Jürgen-Straße No. 1 and 4). Most of the corners were entrances to shops or pubs.

From the very beginning, house No. 51 was home to a small grocery store. In 1927, a room was added to the shop area and the large shop windows were installed. In addition to this shop, there were other small shops at that time: bakery (No. 9), butcher (No. 58-60), other Höker (Haus Altona No. 69) and the Ravn fish smokehouse (No. 55).

The Trahn family bought the house in 1965. Almost everything could be bought there, from food to drinks to household goods. In 1996, the store was closed. Many former shops have been converted into apartments. House No. 51 became a House of Art. First, a gallery showed pictures by artists from the artists‘ colony Ekensund (Flensburg Fjord). Since 2008, the studio of the visual artist and author Hanako C. Hahne has been located here.
